UKRO Rescue Challenge 2016

The 2016 United Kingdom Rescue Organisation (UKRO) Rescue Challenge will be hosted by Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service, between the 8th and 10th September. The UKRO Rescue Challenge is an annual event and is regarded as a showcase for UK firefighters to learn and share skills and knowledge in technical rescue and trauma.

More than 50 teams of professional firefighters from fire and rescue services across the UK will compete against one another in several disciplines, which include Vehicle Extrication, Trauma Management, Urban Search and Rescue, Rope Rescue, Water Rescue and, for the first time this year, Animal Rescue. Complementing the challenge will be a number of educational workshops which will run alongside the main event.

The event is open to all UK fire and rescue services and for the first time this year to other emergency services in the UK.

The Opening Ceremony will be held on Thursday 8 September 2016 with Challenge Days being on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 September when the Closing Ceremony will also take place.  The event will be held at HFRS Headquarters in Eastleigh Hampshire and other local locations.

Places are still available for services which have not registered their teams, for more information on the event and to register please go to—Hampshire-Fire-and-Rescue-Service
