UKRO Challenge Success For Hampshire

Hailed as the ‘firefighter Olympics’ the UK Rescue Organisation (UKRO) challenge invites teams from fire services to battle it out and push their skills and teamwork to the limit as they solve complex scenarios created for them.

The categories this year were : RTC Extrication, Trauma, USAR, Rope, Water Rescue and for the first time Animal Rescue

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service hosted this years’ event at their Eastleigh Headquarters. 65 teams entered and included teams from as far afield as Germany and Luxemburg.

Hundreds of people flooded in on the open day to see the thrilling challenges while children enjoyed getting to look around a real fire engine and trying to get fire kit on as quickly as possible.

The trade stands also attracted a crowd and a drone was seen surveying the scene.

Overall Hampshire won more medals than any other team.
